City's
Excuses: The
stopping block is primarily the city officials.
Property owner Steven Kays requested that the city and county
put funds into the gateway project.
The city officials have talked for years about improving West
Texas Street, but, to date, it has been all talk.
The Fairfield Gateway Association wants concrete actions and
not more vague promises of what should and will be done to improve
this area.
We want to know the
concrete steps the city will take.
The city would benefit from the improvements with a greater
tax base. Instead, the
city is spending money dealing with issues of gangs and
homelessness. The city
needs to set its priorities.
